Tailwheel Endorsement

Get back to basics. Master the rudder.

Tailwheel Endorsement aircraft at Stiletto Airpark

Build the stick-and-rudder skills every pilot should master while learning on a real grass runway in classic taildraggers.

Many pilots go their entire flying career without flying a tailwheel airplane or operating from a grass runway. A tailwheel endorsement sharpens directional control, energy management and crosswind technique.

Training is based at Stiletto Airpark XS79 in Bertram, Texas, northwest of Austin. The 3,000-foot grass runway gives Central Texas pilots a purpose-built environment for tailwheel and soft-field experience.

Stiletto Airpark has multiple instructors and a varied tailwheel fleet. Training can include checkout experience in several classic taildraggers so you leave with broader, practical experience.
